## Key facts (the numbers to quote)

- A tier labeled "Heavy" spans roughly 20-63 mL across brands, so the word alone does not tell a shopper how much a pair holds.
- The identical phrase "12 regular tampons' worth" means 60 mL at WUKA, which states 5 mL per tampon and states the 60 mL, but up to 108 mL at Thinx, which states no millilitre figure for its period underwear (our computation at the FDA regular-tampon ceiling of 9 g, 21 CFR 801.430; grade B for that reason).
- Every capacity figure on this site is a brand's own claim, normalized and graded A (brand publishes mL), B (converted from tampon counts), or C (conflicting/unconfirmed). None is an independent measurement.
- The only published test with real blood components poured packed red blood cells slowly onto three pairs of one unnamed brand's super-absorbency period underwear until the blood pooled; they held under 3 mL each, 2 mL on average. One product under a continuous pour (the authors note capacity may be greater with a slower flow), a different measurement from a brand's saline-test maximum, not a ranking of any brand's claim.
